Engineering Project Blog - Engineering Design Process (Own Arrangement)
Summary:
During this week, we were told to make our arrangement of the Engineering Design Process that would be used for the rest of the school year and for future projects in our Engineering class. I learned that the Engineering Design Process didn't have to be in a specific order.
Backward-Looking: What process did you go through to produce this piece?
The process that I had to go through in order to produce this piece was first to identify the steps of the EDP in a video. After that was completed, I had to determine the S&EP practices along with pieces of text (S&EP - Science & Engineering Practices). Once that was out of my way, I got started on my Engineering Design Process arrangement. Then, I finished, When I finished, I revised my arrangement then decided to move some things around, just so it would make more sense. After that, I put in the link to this blog for the picture.

Inward-Looking: What was especially satisfying to you about either the process or the finished product?
What was especially satisfying to me about the process was it gave me some time to think about how I'd arrange my own Engineering Design Process. Another thing that was especially satisfying to me about the finished product was how it looked. I liked how I put boxes around the text to make it stand out and so the teacher could read. I was also satisfied with the font, as the font was neat and once again, the teacher would be able to read it easily. And finally, the last satisfying thing to me about the finished product was that I highlighted the S&EP (Science and Engineering Practices) so the teacher could see and not get confused when reading.

Outward-Looking: Did you do your work the way other people did theirs? In what ways did you do it differently? In what ways was your work or process similar?
Yes, I did do my work the way other people did theirs: I put my own arrangement on a Google Draw, just as we were told to. One way I did mine differently was putting mine in a different arrangement than others. My work/process was similar because the entire class had to fill out two Google Docs before moving onto creating their own arrangement. However, my arrangement was different, as the teacher instructed us to make our own arrangement in the sense that the finished product would make sense to me, and not to others.

Forward-Looking: What would you like to spend more time on in school?
I would like to spend more time learning how to write a proper book, how to engineer buildings that can withstand many natural disasters, and how to code, using different coding software (and learn how to animate even though we haven't learned that yet!). I would also like to learn how to draw human beings, as I cannot do that yet. A few other things I would like to learn include making our flashlight (from scratch, not reverse engineering and then putting it back together). The last thing I would like to spend some more time on in school is how to film a proper movie, which is up to ten minutes or more, without the video software crashing (which has happened before and it was really annoying when it did).
